A Best Friends Angels Rest Pet Memorial from a Friend

T.B.O.

2005 – 2024

T.B.O. was my sweetest baby, my best friend for 19 years. My old boyfriend's nephews rescued a litter of 3 newborn kittens when they visited me in LA and named him The Big One because he was twice as big as the other two. I kept the whole litter and shortened his name to T B.O. i enlisted neighbors and co-workers to help bottle fed the kittens every 2 hours.

He was very sick at one point when he was young and almost died. It was my sister Laura, an emergency room vet, who diagnosed him long distance at 4 in the morning after i woke her up, and saved his life. Laura saved his life quite a few times.

T.B.O. loved me the most of the three and always wanted to be with me. He loved the outdoors and had many night time adventures. But he always came back. We were so attached. He was so active and fit and seemed much younger than his years. He loved sitting in my lap. And our favorite thing was sleeping until noon or later on weekends He would tap the covers like he was knocking on the door to come in. And he would sleep there, cuddled with me.

I miss him more than I can bear. Thank you everyone for your support and sharing this grief with me.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
TBO couldn't give a rar's ass what anyone thought about him. He was too busy and fierce about living life on his own terms. He understood the things that really mattered; family, friends, relationships. And at the same time, TBO wasn't about to pretend for anyone's benefit. I'm not a cat person, perse, but I admired that about him. TBO wasn't under any illusions about this life. He'd seen the darkness from the very beginning of his existence. And he dealt with the affects of that throughout his life. As much as he appreciated Katie and her immense love for him , and being her favorite, whether she admits it or not. He knew that there certain paths in this life that we must all traverse in solo formation. TBO breathed deeply and loved hard.; and took all that this life could offer. He loved life. And so should we. Be present with those you care for. And be the best representation you can in this world. Travel well TBO.

While I didn’t really know TBO, I somehow feel like I did. That’s a testament to your love. Losing our animal friends can feel seismic. All we can do is try and honor their memory by being as present to our fellow creatures - both human and animal - as they were to us. Sending you much love.

Beloved TBO,

Not only were you blessed, you were a blessing. I’m so grateful that you beat the odds and lived a long and loving life with Katie. You’ll be missed. Keep sending butterflies. They make Katie happy. Love, Myrna

I’m honored to have been there when TBO entered the Pet Rainbow Bridge. 🌈 What a loved cat he was! Cuddling, spending time in the yard and receiving so much love and attention from you Katherine! What a beautiful life he lived. Now his soul gets to play and visit you whenever he wants and each time you think of him. Already he’s sent you signs and my wish is that this consoles your aching heart. 🤗

Sending SO much love in honor of TBO ❤️I know the heartbreak when our precious pets leave us, but as they say, it represents ALL the big love we gave them. And you certainly did Katie, everyone knows that! 💞 Thanks for inspiring me with the love of owning cats. Seeing how sweet your cats were with me when I visited made me consider getting one, then 2. 😸😸Your great love for animals has certainly saved many. May TBO rest in peace completing the wonderful life you gave him! 🌈 I also believe we will see our pets again someday. 🙏Love ya girl. 💓
