Frisky
Frisky came to me from a bad situation, along with his sister, Precious (who I still have). My fondest and also scariest memory of him is when I couldn't find him one morning. I searched everywhere and finally found him under my sink! He had opened up the cabinet door, gone inside, and somehow the door closed behind him.
I adopted Frisky out eight years ago, along with Caitlan, Cappuccino, and Hecate. All four bonded with their new dad, Ernest, and his son, Sam. Originally, Ernest didn't take Frisky, just the other three cats. But, Sam fell in love with Frisky immediately, and the next day, they came back for him! Sadly, Ernest wrote me today to tell me Frisky passed over the Rainbow Bridge two months ago.
I knew Frisky had been diagnosed with diabetes but that he'd been doing well. But, Ernest told me Frisky started losing weight again and didn't respond to medications or change in diet. Ernest took him outside a lot in the last months of his life, which Frisky loved. He told me there was a spot under the trees in his back yard that Frisky loved, and that's where he is now.
Ernest ended his email to me, writing, "The house seems kind of empty without him because he was always trying to trip me for food, or to get out the door or into the fridge. The other kitties are just now figuring out that he's not going to be back."
Frisky, you were a wonderful, sweet, handsome boy. It made my heart sad to let you go eight years ago even though I knew you'd have a wonderful life. It pains my heart now to know you are no longer in this world. You will be missed so much by all the people and cats who knew and loved you.
