Porter Lockman
Porter was a loving protector who meant the world to us.
We fell in love with him immediately, but his litter had parvo and we helped him recover. We quickly bonded and Porter focused his attention solely on us – fearful of many other people or dogs. His fierce love and protection for us often made his behavior challenging but, still, every day was better with him in it.
He loved to sniff and was trained in ‘nose work’ (scent classes) early in his life. He had such expressive features, big soft ears, and would listen intently – tilting his head whenever trying to understand. Porter loved to lay and cuddle, and would steamroll us if he wanted the space. Whenever we walked into the house, he enthusiastically greeted us and made us feel loved.
Porter loved parmesan cheese, puzzles, laying out in the yard, woofing at ‘threats’, ripping the stuffing out of plush toys, going on hikes, laying on blankets, laundry folding time, crunching on carrots…but most of all he loved walks. Our daily walks together meant everything and were a routine that lasted his entire lifetime.
He filled our home with fun, love, dog hair, and energy. We loved each other unconditionally and spent as much time together as possible. We miss him more than words could ever describe and will think about him always and forever.
We love you baby dog.
