Dusty

2011 – 2026

Dusty, an Aquarius born in the 2010s, was unpredictable: napping like a baby in the sunlight during the day, adventurous on the shelves like a ninja at night, knocking down food containers to get more treats. She enjoyed junk food (mostly chicken flavored) and a cozy lifestyle with belly rubs and love. She hated showers (the water) and getting her nails cut (she made that clear every time).
She was a round tuxedo cat. Some said her pattern looked like a bikini. Some said her body was big but her head was small.
The shelter called her Dutchess. Before that she probably lived on the street, and then at some nice old ladies’ homes (not confirmed).
She was unapologetically herself. She could be mean to some people, but at heart she was gentle. She was one of the smartest cats I’ve ever known.
Everyone (including her “haters”) will miss her. August 2026 by SL.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
