Harley Quinn Lillian, our only girl, our princess, our blue eyed golden, our golden tripawd.. God placed you in our lives at the most perfect time to complete our little pack. Thank you for so many great memories, for all the adventures, for all the camping trips, and everything else in between. You were the best girl. You loved the snow and the cold but you also loved your sunbathing time. You loved to play, loved any kind of food, loved kids! You were the most friendly, the sweetest, the most photogenic, and the most gentle pup. I have seen you crush tennis balls with your mouth but if anyone, adults or kids alike, got near you, you would lick them and show them love in the most gentle way. The happiness in your face when we crack open a new pack of tennis balls is a memory forever ingrained in me.
The past couple of months were filled with doctor's visits, cancer diagnosis, and surgeries that ended up with you losing your hind leg but man, you were a fighter. You did not let the amputation stop you and was up trying to walk in a day and even learned how to walk on 3 legs in less than a week, at over 12 years old! That's insane! Every doctor's visit ended with Starbies pup cup. It was our little routine. I'm so grateful for your resilience and your strength.
I'm so happy we were able to bring you camping a lot, we showed you the beach (although you weren't a big fan), we went on lots of car rides and lots of walks. I will miss those the most.
We thought we had more time but thank you for waiting for us to come home from our long trip before you had to say goodbye. I'm sorry you had to be in pain but you hid it so well until the very end that no one even knew. Your heart still had so much love to give but your body was tired. You have fought so hard to give us more time with you and now it's our turn to return the favor of letting you rest easy and be pain free. Run free with all the tennis balls and unlimited treats in heaven. We will always think of you every time we see a tennis ball.
