A Best Friends Angels Rest Pet Memorial

Sunshine Milo (Sunny)

2010 – 2026

Sunny was my furry soulmate and brought so much love and joy into my life and his passing has left a hole in my heart. My memories and reminders of his handsome face and cheery disposition will sustain me!

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
Sunny
For fifteen years he was the small,
bright rhythm at the edge of your days—
a soft weight settling beside you,
a watcher of windows,
a keeper of every gentle routine.

Now the house has a different silence.

Not heavy—just unfamiliar—
the kind that makes you pause
before you turn a corner,
still half expecting the thump of a tail
or the hopeful lift of his head.

But love doesn’t vanish.
It becomes the warmth that lingers
in a room long after the sun has moved on.
May Sunny’s memory find its place
in your days with more comfort than ache,
and may the quiet he leaves behind become,
in time, a soft reminder of how deeply he was loved.

Sunny was your Velcro soulmate from the minute he climbed onto your lap at the shelter. He knew he had found his forever home with you. You had such amazing adventures together and he shared his love with everyone. I will especially remember him as my “Batman,” and Vader’s pack leader - equal part challenge and love for him! Vader will be lost without his leader. I know Sunny is at the Rainbow bridge looking down on you every day and playing with new friends!

Sunny was an amazing companion for you. When you went to get a dog at the shelter, he came running to you, knowing you would be his best friend. We will miss him.
