Remembrances
Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
I always loved to hear Vinny making his way around the office every Friday morning, sticking his head in all of the desk trash cans that he could find. Once he had done his morning rounds, he’d sleep for most of the day, but he was so mischievous when he first arrived! And then Vinny would make himself known again in the evening, when he decided it was time to go home, and he’d whine and sigh very loudly until Ashima was ready to leave. I’ve never known a dog with so much personality — so sweet and gentle but also very opinionated, and determined to do what he wanted!
Ashima I’m a little afraid of big dogs - so I was surprised when I met Vin that all I wanted to do was kneel down and hug him forever. Every single time I saw him lumbering in the park or sleeping in the gym or riding in style in his bike I was happy. You’re a dear friend to me and I’m so happy I got to meet you - but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that part of that was also getting to love Vinnie. I’m so terribly sorry he’s gone and I hold you in my heart.
Vinnie was the gentlest, slobberiest, wisest pittie pup ever. He was just calm and steady, but always up for a little romp and ALWAYS up for food. The connection you two shared was exceptional. He was your soul pup and you his soul momma.
I will hold the memory of Vin, Chach and Franks at CrossFit forever. Our little rocker group of misfit pus and misfit peeps. His memory will be in all our hearts forever.
Vinnie was an excellent employee and coworker at the Greenmarket. I always looked forward to seeing him, and snuggling his big pumpkin head for a little bit before he soldiered on to the next gig
Vinnie was the snuggliest, silliest little hippo of a pittie, always ready for a cuddle and always plotting his next snack. I'll never forget his chomps -- watermelon rinds and cabbage.
He was your companion, your soul dog, and it was so obvious how deeply the two of you loved each other.
He lives forever in my heart, and Chach misses his buddy so much too. Sending you lots of love, and hoping that every memory of that goofy, wonderful boy brings a little smile alongside the ache.
By sharing this pet’s memorial page, you’re helping to keep the memory of a beloved companion close — and you’re helping others understand the place pets forever inhabit in our hearts.
