Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
"We need another and a wiser, and perhaps, a more mystical concept of animals. In a world older and more complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost, or never attained, living by Voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings, they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the Splendor and travail of the earth."-Henry Beston. I will miss Heart's loving and sweet demeanor at our meet and greets, loving on everyone when they come in..❤️❤️❤️

love heart
Heart was an ex-racer greyhound who spent her retirement years in a home filled with light, love, and many friends both two-legged and four. Intuitive, sensitive, affectionate, "Nurse Heart" (as we called her) found a second calling in life as a certified therapy dog, participating in "Paws to Read" and attending monthly Meet & Greets promoting greyhound rescue. Heart loved oatmeal, yogurt, and FroYos, and could "chatter" (a greyhound trait) so loudly she sounded like a pair of maracas. We will miss our brave, sweet, gentle Heart.
