Nanaimo (the Cat)

2011 – 2025

Nanaimo brought us so much joy throughout our 13 years together. He was a big talker and loved interacting with anybody who came to visit. He loved his loving and was super snuggly. We adopted him in 2012 so his birthdate is only just a guess and we always wondered who could possibly have given up this sweet boy. He had the most beautiful green eyes and most incredible fluffy tail! He loved going into cupboards, jumping into boxes, running out the door whenever he could and then stopping abruptly (probably surprised he got outside), licking plastic and turning on our bedroom lights in the middle of the night! We miss him every day and our space feels empty without him. We remember him with so much love, always and forever.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
