Large Marge

2017 – 2025

Large Marge was a special girl.

Adopted by her mommy at 7 years of age and 15lbs from BFLSC, she was all alone in the world but captured her mommy's heart no other cat could compare. With the love and care of her new mommy Large Marge was able to lose 3 pounds and reached her goal of 12.

With her new health Large Marge acted more like a cat, cuddling all day, zoomies attacks, and jumping on the windowsill.

Everyday Large Marge would greet mommy at the door, get her welcome home song and after biting mommys ankle 1 time enjoy her fave Seared Tuna or Salmon dinner.

Every night, mommy and Large Marge would cuddle, read, and relax together for hours. Often times purring so loudly and powerfully, mommy fell asleep.

Large Marge would purr just by having mommy talk to her. Mute and unable to meow she used it to communicate but she always expressed her extreme happiness trilling. This happiness was from being rescued and loved

While Large Mare was sick she still held onto her bright and warm personality, cuddling mommy more and more until ultimately, dying in her arms in her fave place- being kissed by mommy and held tight until her very last heartbeat.

While we do not know her life before 2024, Large Marge in the end only knew soft things.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
Thank you for sharing your journey with Large Marge. It always brightened my days to see her pop up on my feed. Being able to see and hear the love she obviously had for you and you for her was so sweet. Her big purrs and trills of contentment and joy were so precious and a clear testament to her comfort and trust in you. Please know you do not carry this grief and her memory alone. She not only lives on in your heart but also in those like myself who adored her from a distance. Thank you so much for opening your heart and home to her and showing her a truly beautiful love, and allowing us to be part of it.

Marge reminded me a lot of my late cat, Ezio. He also purred with his mouth open, and struggled with his weight. We once had a visitor in our house, and Ezio rubbed against their leg. He startled them - they assumed he was a dog at first because he was so huge.

You didn't get enough time with Marge, it's never enough, but it was easy to tell from videos and pictures that you made her life infinitely better while you were together.

"people are born and through their lives take the time to learn how to live a good one – loving
everybody all the time and being nice. pets
already know how to do that, so they don’t stay as long."
large marge would often come up on my threads feed with her sassy walk and big purr, the videos made evermore endearing with the funny little betty boop voice of her owner. i'm so saddened to hear she's gone, but i know she loved and was loved ❤️
