"Princess" Checker
To my dearest "Princess" Checker, our love story here on earth has come to an end my puppy girl; the last grain of sand has fallen. You left our family the same way you arrived ~ with the purest heart filled with love, grace, dignity and that sweet smile on your face. The only thing different was the quiet sigh of relief you released from your body that could no longer serve you.
We shared our goodbyes on Sunday, 5/18/25 at 11:15p.m. with your head gently in my lap and me whispering in your ear what a good girl you are, how much I love you and how much I’m going to miss you. It was peaceful my darling and I’m so proud of you. I like to imagine you’ve been restored to a healthy dog, no longer encumbered by your illnesses. I miss your absolutely wild and uninhibited greetings of joy at the door, your grunts when you would get comfortable, your sleepy snoring, your insisting on getting as close as possible to snuggle, your butt twerking, your funny sideways walk, your knowing your schedule to the minute for breakfast and dinner, your being so smart at PT and really what I miss the most is just knowing you were somewhere in the house, and the many other, smaller antics that are simply woven into our everyday lives. Now you get to run free, no longer encumbered by your arthritic limbs that kept your adventures to walks only. You get to run hard, in circles, moving at great speed; you can now jump up and through the atmosphere to your new beginning no longer struggling to breathe. Go find your kitty housemate Picasso. And even though you didn’t know them here on earth, I know that Bingo, Rusty, Bam Bam, Maybe and LuluBelle (and all of our fellow furry friends) were there to greet you. Give everyone a kiss from me . . .
Until we meet again, night night my sweet girl. You are missed more than you could ever imagine. With love from Mommy (and Woodstock and Pierre too).
