Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
I will never forget you Cooper. You were so handsome and I loved you from the moment we rescued you, but you were Joe's dog from the beginning. Then one day, you switched allegiance and became my "shadow". I couldn't leave a room without you following me. If I left the house, you waited at the window until I returned. You were my protector and loyal companion. Your beautiful, soulful eyes melted my heart each and every day. Thank you for bringing joy to my life for 12 years. We all miss you in our own way. Gracie took over your spot on the sofa, but she has left your spot on the bed open for you ... just in case. Love, Mom

Forever rock
Cooper was a special part of the family, and we will always remember his unique characteristics. He was so strong and could take us for a run instead of us taking him for a walk. Cooper could dismantle a toy in no time, beg like he was starving, and he considered it his duty to keep the yard free of lizards. It never got old watching him and Gracie play the growling game at mealtime. We will miss Cooper and the companionship, laughter, and pure joy he brought to the family.
Love, Tom, Linda & Ellie
