Muffy

2000 – 2021

Muffy was a very special cat. He was found by our neighbors at a car dealership. They called me to come and meet the cat to see if I would like to take him into our home.

I fell in love with him the first time I saw him. He breed was a Siberian. Very, very smart!

We named him Muffy (per my Mom's request). All cats I had throughout my life were very smart with different personalities, which were so cute.

He would follow me around the house (did not let any of my cats outside without supervision). He really seemed to know my moods.

Several years later, he contracted Squamish cell carcinoma (sorry for the spelling) in his right rear jaw. Broke my heart. Vet said they could remove that part of his jaw which would most likely make it a bit difficult for him to eat.
I made the tough decision to send him to the Rainbow Bridge.

The whole process was heartbreaking. I grieved for days. Well, the week before when we needed to bring him to the vet for the last time, at night (we let him sleep on our bed), he laid beside me and would lightly tap my head with his paw, very gently, as if he was saying it was "OK".

So after that, hubby and I decided no more pets. I started a Cat Care "business". I care for peoples cats when they are out of state. I get my "cat fix" that way. All cats are so precious with their different personalities. I am blessed to be able to care for them. God bless Muffy and all of my previous cat pets.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
