Cookie

2023 – 2025

Little 7lb Cookie passed away on May 15th 2025. Cookie was found as a 1-2 yr old stray in Phoenix after being hit by a car which resulted in her having her front left limb amputated. After adopting this cute little tripod in Tucson in May of 2024, we learned that she also incurred a traumatic brain injury at the time of the accident. My son and I tried our best seeking advice from numerous medical and professional providers, but her TBI symptoms became more frequent and longer in duration. Her favorite activities included being a taste tester for weekly dog food cooking sessions, and going for neighborhood walks to the park and grocery store, she loved being carried in her little shoulder strap pack. Even with all her struggles, she and I became extremely close. She was my angel and I miss her dearly.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
I never met Cookie but I loved hearing about her through my sister Mikey. I know she was a total sweetheart and will be missed so very much.

Cookie experienced so many obstacles and hardships, but she still managed to bring a lot of joy into our lives. She was often quiet and unassuming, but would occasionally show more curiosity and desire to explore. I will always remember plopping her down in the grass at the park, assuming this little tripod would stay close, and having her hop away faster than I could chase her. Cookie was and is incredibly loved by her mom, Mikey, who gave her the best life she could possibly have, and did everything in her power to give her as much peace and comfort as possible. Rest in peace, sweet Cookie. You will always live on in our hearts.
