Red

2010 – 2025

Red was our best friend, we always talked to him and told him we loved him, he was always superbly treated and we miss him dearly. His favorite thing to do was to chase Floki/Fluffy or to eat or sleep. As a kitten, he'd have 4 different ball-roundabout-toys going at a time and he'd keep all of them going for a long time. Busy cat. Hard to believe he once was small. He used to sit on Mary's chest as she Total Gym-ed. He was a HUGE Maine Coon cat (24#), male, green eyes, bushy tail, big Lynx tips, HUGE heart, almost 15 years old when he died, a rarity for Maine Coon cats. We had almost 15 wonderful years with him. He could have been a show cat. All our cats are spoiled rotten. He always got along well with our 2 other cats, playing, teaching. The time came that he had to go. He was tired, weary. Did all possible. It was his time. Can't believe how much it hurts. Very sad, but goodbye, Big Red. See you on the other side.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
