Here at Best Friends, animals have such a special place in our lives. We honor those pets we’ve loved and those who need our help today.

Remembrances
Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
Han was attached to my hip ever since he was a puppy. He would even wait outside the door if I was in the bathroom. He loved going on rides, sitting on the center arm rest, keeping an eye out for anything that moved. He loved going to Star Valley and chasing cows, and he never knew what to do it they turned around and looked at him. He was the one that heard us first when we would come home and start howling, getting Dakota involved in the howling as well. I have always loved my pets but the loss of Han has been the hardest so far. Love you buddy
Han Solo was the most loyal dog we have ever had. He loved protecting his family and going for rides in the car or on the gator where he could bark at all the cows. He was very obedient, he had a tender heart and loved us unconditionally. He was a softy and wanted to be next to one of us at all times. His favorite thing at night was when I would sit on the floor with him and softly rub his stomach to make him feel more comfortable as his disease progressed. He was an amazing loving animal who deserved a longer life. I miss you buddy. Your dads and your sister love you and hope to see you again in another place. Love, your Dad JT
Han was a cuddly, sweet little guy that loved to be loved. I will always remember how he would approach me every time his dad (Uncle Travis) would leave him home while he went out; his head low looking at me with those penetrating eyes of “I’ve been abandoned” even though his dad might only be gone five minutes. How he would come jump up on the couch every morning with me when they were visiting and ensure I woke up to pet him. Han will be missed by even those who didn’t get to see him very often. We love you, Han!
