Sasha

2008 – 2025

I adopted Sasha on February 9, 2011. You named her Mercedes. Adoption number A002889. We named her Sasha. She fit right in with her Golden Retriever sisters, Chloe and Chelsea and they became my team. Sasha passed away today at the age of 17 human years. About 80 in dog years and she lived a full and happy life.
We met by chance, but she was a much loved member of our family.
Sasha's favorite room in the house was the kitchen. She was always on the lookout for her next meal or a treat. She got along well with her bigger sisters, but had little patience for 4 legged creatures that were not a member of her pack. And she did not abide the doggy practice of butt-sniffing! She was, however, very accommodating to the family cats.
I will miss Sasha ( and Chloe, Chelsea and Mya) for the rest of my life. I know they are running in the grass, at the foot of the rainbow bridge!

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
