Dudley

2002 – 2017

Dudley, a Lhasa mix, was a little rough around the edges when I rescued him around Halloween, 2005. He had issues, but he soon bonded with me and became part of my family. I've never loved a pet as much as I loved Dudley. He was energetic and a loyal companion until the end. His passing hit me very hard, and I still think of him every day. He loved to take a walk, chase the stuffed animal toys I tossed around, and explore our back yard. In his younger days, he would run off to explore the neighborhood, but always came back. He didn't care for other dogs or strangers, a behavior he picked up from his early days on the street. He loved to look out a window and watch for squirrels, birds, and people. I expect he'll be watching for me when I cross the Rainbow Bridge. I love you, Dudley.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
