Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.

Precious Spike was your much loved kitty companion, who graced your life for 9 years. He was a bottle baby, who remained your baby even as he grew into a big, beautiful, grey cat with soft fur. He was scared of some of your other fur babies & of strangers, though he would sometimes warm up to them. He would go after & torment poor Poppi, your elderly & frail female cat. Maybe he sensed her fraility & health problems. Or maybe he was getting back at her for not playing with him & instead scolding him when he was a little kitten.

Spike loved you a ton & he still loves you in Heaven. He knew you loved him in return & he knows that you continue to love him. He waits for you in Heaven, where you will join him 1 day. Until then, he cuddles & plays with your other Angel fur babies now including Babs & Josephine. He looks out for you from above & also watches over your remaining fur babies on Earth. A piece of him remains in your heart, & a piece of you in his heart. God bless & keep sweet Spike.

You are invited to join us the last Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. MT as we remember the lives of pets we have loved and lost. For those who are not able to attend in person, a video recording of each blessing is posted soon thereafter online.
