Sparky

2007 – 2024

My mother saved Sparky from euthanasia at a shelter when he was two years old and she was 89. Sparky adored my Mom and kept her active and happy until her passing at 98. For much of this time Sparky was part of our pack of four dogs and two cats and went everywhere with us in all weather and hiked mountains and swam in pools, lakes, rivers and oceans—he was an amazing energetic poodle regardless of his arthritis and Cushing’s disease. When he passed away, he took our hearts with him. We miss his love of life, his strength and his unconditional love for all animals, humans and especially my Mom.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
