Max

2014 – 2024

Max was our labor of love. We adopted him from the local Pyrenees rescue. He had been through so much trauma. He had been thrown away a few times and looking repeatedly for his forever home. When we met him and he laid his head on my lap, I knew in that instant looking into his eyes, he would be mine forever. He was our boy. We had challenges as he was terrified of storms but we worked tirelessly to make him feel safe and give him comfort in bad weather. He was the best boy. His funny Pyr grin was magical and funny. He always had a huge smile for us. He was a very big boy but all he wanted was to be near you and curl up- for his size he was so quiet, until he had to “go on patrol” and tell people it was his yard and his house. LOL! He was a majestic and beautiful pyr and our hearts are broken. We love him and will miss him forever but he is now whole and happy over the rainbow bridge playing with our fur kids that came before. Run and be free my big boy!

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
