Colonel
December 20, 2007
Our animals are our life and the joy they bring to us no words can explain. That was my "Big Guy", my "Old Man", my Colonel.
Colonel passed away December 20, 2007 and although I had him for many years, it still wasn't enough time. He brought me so much joy and laughter when times were stressful or I just needed a friend. Animals may not be able to speak but they know when something in wrong and they know just how to fix it.
I went to see him at the farm every day. Being retired, he was spoiled rotten and I would not have it any other way. I brought him carrots and apples, and he even allowed me to share those with some of his trusted pals. :) The ears would go up and he would just nuzzle his nose in my pocket to get at the food.
The affection and love I felt from that horse will never be forgotten. When he got sick, he tried real hard not to let me know he was hurting, but when it was time and he was tired of fighting, he let me know that he wanted to sleep and be with his buddies in Animal heaven.
He is there now looking after all his friends and he will be missed dearly. Daddy loves you Big Guy, my Old Man, my Colonel.
