Diega

Diega was named at birth; the owner thought he was a male, so Diego was the given name. I got Diego when he was 6 months old. On Diego's 18th birthday, she laid an egg. Scared us both! I had to change her name, but I couldn't change it much; she had been Diego for 18 years, so I just changed it to Diega. She was the best friend I ever had, and when she died suddenly this past spring, I simply could not accept it. She was to outlive me, and I had a special account set up for her after I passed. But it wasn't meant to be. I still mourn her, as nothing can ever replace the love we shared and my best friend, my baby bird.
