Frankie Boy

2024

I saw Frankie Boy's portrait in a newspaper ad from Westfield *(NY) Stray Cat Rescue in August of 2016. He was beautiful! I fell in love with him at "first sight". He had been at the shelter for 9 months and was 8 years old. He had been left by his elderly owner who could no longer take care of him and had been overlooked by others due to his age but I HAD TO HAVE HIM!
My Mom was suffering from Dementia and had mobility challenges. We had lost another kitty a few months earlier and we were missing the joy and love of having a kitty in the house.
Frankie Boy was an ANGEL right from the very beginning! He settled in easily and, right from the beginning, was so very sweet and gentle with my Mom. He would gently settle into her lap and he would never get under her feet. He brought her so much love and happiness during those difficult months.
When my Mom passed in August of 2027, Frankie Boy was my always present best friend and companion...he was missing my Mom too...but remained strong and steadfast by my side.
I was diagnosed with cancer in late 2022, and Frankie Boy was the most perfect companion while I went through chemo and it's difficulties. He was patient and loving and always close at hand for much needed hugs and kisses. He would quietly get on the sofa or bed, beside me, while I was too tired to do anything but lay down. His constant, loyal presence helped me keep a positive frame of mind on MANY days.
I know he was sent to me as a gift from heaven! He was an angel on Earth - and now is an angel from above watching down on me as I navigate my own life challenges since his passing.
I have photos of him to remind me daily of his love and a wind chime I bought, especially for him, during his final weeks of life, that I ring every day to let him know that I know that he is watching over me from above.
God Bless my Frankie Boy

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
