Bentley

2017 – 2025

Bentley joined my family on October 10, 2022; he was about 5 yrs old. I don’t know any details of his life before me but given that I was his 8th adopter, it could not have been good. I made him a promise that he would never see the inside of a rescue or shelter ever again. For being a smaller dog, he made me feel safe as he guarded me and the house.

He was extremely intelligent and independent. He was also kind of a goofball. When he heard my neighbor go outside with her dog, Bentley would run from where ever he was in the house over to the wall that we shared and bark like crazy. He never really played with toys but he definitely loved his treats. His absolute favorite thing to do was to go to Starbucks for a pup cup then go through the car wash. I don’t know why but he loved the car wash.

Bentley, I loved every thing about you for the entire 3 yrs that you were with me here on earth. You crossed the rainbow bridge early Thanksgiving morning. My heart aches with each passing day since then and it will for the rest of my life when we will be reunited. In the meantime, go play with all the cats and dogs, especially the ones that are also living in my heart. Go run free in the fields we always talked about my boy. Be a good boy. I will love you forever Sweet Pea….

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
