Maycie

2015 – 2025

Though we didn’t know anything about her first year and a half of life, it was clear it was tough. Maycie came to us so afraid and uncertain of people and the world in general. It took quite awhile but little by little she opened up and showed us more of the sweet girl she really was. She chose me (Diane) as her person and the bond was cemented. Around me she was able to relax and be the happy girl she was meant to be. Anytime I saw her smile or get excited made my whole day. She never completely let down her walls and preferred to stay in the background a lot of the time but she loved us and we loved her so much and gave her the best life we could. Because she deserved that. She always looked out for her furry sister JoJo and she absolutely loved getting pup cups!! Her illness was so sudden and unexpected and she was gone so quickly that we are all still somewhat in disbelief. She is SO missed and still SO loved. Maycie, I know that I was pretty much your whole world but you were also mine. I will love and miss you forever. We all will. Love, Mom, Dad and JoJo

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
