Kali “Wowie”
My dear Wowie, aka Kali Vatana - goddess of destruction,
We saw you for the first time stand up and stretch. There you were shaven and missing your back right leg. At that moment you became our charge. I brought you home to your new family and we slept together in a sleeping bag. You needed lots of love, cuddles, and acceptance.
You learned so fast how to walk, run, climb as a three-legger. You always amazed everyone that met you. They could never tell you were missing a leg until petting you or upon some moment of closer examination. My little miracle Wowie. Sham-Wow!
You were always the best hunter out of the four of you. You could catch mice, flies, spiders, and whatever other critters happened to dance across your path.
You also loved Hazel’s string. You loved it so much that sometimes we’d have to put you in another room so that Hazel could have a chance to play with her most favorite toy.
Most of all, though, you loved Hazel. From the moment you two first met you wanted to be her friend. The first few years were rough. Hazel would get a bit jealous and hiss or swipe at you, but you always tried again. Then, when it became just us three, you two became real sisters. It was just us girls.
Wowie, you were always so sweet and loving; sleeping on my pillow above my head every night for years. Your purrs and licks helping me sleep for almost two decades.
You did so many funny and incredible things. You had been through so much and you always deserved all the love and adoration possible.
I fell short as your friend many times, I know, and especially at the end of your life. For that, I am deeply regretful. However, my dear sweet little Wowie, I loved you and still love you with all of my heart and soul.
I hope you are at peace with your best friend Hazel and that you feel the warmest embrace of everyone that loved you truly for all eternity. This amazing universe was so lucky to have you existing in it. My life has been forever changed for the better because of you. I love you forever my littlest Wowie ❤️
