A Best Friends Angels Rest Pet Memorial

Al

2010 – 2025

Al was adopted from Best Friends Sanctuary when I did an internship in 2017. We couldn’t have got a more loving dog. He was the best dog - so cute, funny and happy. We loved him so much and will miss him forever.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
I was often on video chat with my sister when she took Al to her Airbnb to see how it would go. Al made the decision before she did! He even showed her by sleeping like a person on the husband side of the bed (since Rob was not there). So, he became her biggest doggy love, Rob's best friend and their big protector. I know this is a big loss for both of them, but he is also always with them ...see more

Forever rock
Al was such a sweet boy! He always gave me the best hugs whenever I’d see him. I may have only known him a short while, but I always looked forward to spending time with him while his parents were gone. He is truly loved and going to be very missed.

I only met Al a few times when visiting Josie & Rob. My memory of him is one of being a very loving, warm, and friendly dog. A wonderful pet. He’ll be missed!

Heart
Al knew how much you & Rob loved him. I've always felt that dogs are angels on earth and now, as Cindy expressed, an angel in heaven. At times, you may feel his presence near you, that's his way of comforting you just as you had comforted him when you rescued him. XO
