A Best Friends Angels Rest Pet Memorial

Peter

2011 – 2024

Peter embodied joy and resilience. Despite experiencing serious challenges in his life, his primary concerns remained how he could repurpose objects into toys, lure me to his food bowl and persuade me to refill it, fit his entire 70-pound body on my lap, and make every stranger a friend. Peter was bursting with personality. Although I did not meet him until he was already senior dog, I feel as though I have known and loved him forever. Peter was my best friend, soulmate, teacher, and family. He was a source of delight and gratitude when neither came easily. I love and miss him beyond measure.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
