A Best Friends Angels Rest Pet Memorial

Ricky Borgese

2007 – 2024

Ricky was a beautiful, sweet, endearing polar bear lab who enriched our lives in so many ways. She captured our hearts immediately not only with her affection but also with her unusual ways; in spite of having an older brother, she would throw her empty food bowl down 15 steps and then retrieve it and replay. She was an amazing example for aging, living until she was 16 1/2 in spite of having numerous serious health issues for the last 4 years. She would not give in. She never wanted to leave us, and we prayed she never would. We cannot think or write about her without flowing tears. Ricky, we will love you forever.

Remembrances

Leaving a personal story, memory, or words of support for a pet’s family is a heartfelt way to pay tribute and provide comfort. As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.
Ricky was so sweet and added immeasurable joy to her owners’ lives. I did not know her for a long time, but even as she aged (16 1/2!) she remained fully engaged with her people, her brother Benny, and her environment. She was a very beautiful dog too, as many people often noticed. We miss them all, and Ricky is missed very much. XXOO
