In Loving Memory of Artie

Artie came into my life from a high-kill shelter, a special-needs dog who deserved a second chance. From the moment I rescued him, he filled my world with more love and companionship than I ever thought possible. Though Artie wasn’t one to show his emotions openly, his gentle spirit and quiet affection shone through to those who took the time to show him love. He had his favorite humans, and to them, he offered unwavering loyalty and unconditional love.

Artie had his challenges, but they never defined him. He showed me that every life is valuable, no matter the obstacles. His presence changed my life forever. Adopting him not only gave him a home, but in so many ways, it also saved me.

Artie would want everyone to know that adopting a shelter pet can transform your life, just as it transformed his. By adopting, you’re not only giving one animal love and a new beginning, but you're also making room for another pet in need. I will always be grateful for the time I had with Artie, and his memory will continue to inspire me to advocate for rescue pets.

Run free, sweet Artie. You’ll forever have a place in my heart.

Artie was so special and he was also Sassy Moon’s friend. Artie might also say Sassy was in charge (aka, alpha female, as Heather would call her). I was so happy to see a picture of him and Sassy together. They loved their play dates. Artie will be forever missed.

What a beautiful tribute, Heather, to your beloved Artie! Artie, you were the best boy and the most loyal companion to your mom.

“My Buddy,” you were truly one of a kind who shared a love of ice cream and naps with me. The unique bond you shared with my Ripken, who I know is joyfully running alongside you now, and the countless cherished memories we created over the past nine years have brought me so many smiles through the tears.

Artie, you were a constant source of unconditional love, joy, and comfort. With your gentle spirit and distinguished presence, you embodied what it means to be a true gentleman, always looking dapper in your finest bowties and sweater vests.

I will miss everything about you, Artie, especially your wagging tail and the eager spirit that greeted me every time we met. You touched the hearts of everyone who knew you— to know you was to love you!

Though you’ve crossed the Rainbow Bridge, your sweet spirit will forever remain in our hearts. You taught us all about loyalty and the beauty of life’s simple pleasures. We will treasure the laughter you inspired, the love you shared, and the countless precious moments with you that will live on in our stories.

Rest easy, dear Artie. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Thank you for showering us with love and for the immense joy you brought into our lives.

You were the best dog mom to sweet, sweet Artie. You could tell how happy and safe he felt being with you.

He had the most cozy beds I’ve seen a doggy have located in just about every corner of your house and office and he was happy just being around you.

He was a big strong guy, but it always made me laugh to see him with some of his more girly toys :)
