As part of your remembrance, we also invite you to leave a virtual token along with your words — similar to our tradition here at the Sanctuary of leaving stones, beloved items, or small toys on the graves of cherished animals.

BUTTERCUP
A pretty little girl lost in the city
A terrible fate for a beautiful young kitty
Rescued from a life on the street
In her little cage, she looked so sweet
We took her home and she was afraid
Suspicious of each move we made
Then we got her a friend, but Buttercup was sick
They never found a way to click
Her illness appeared after we didn't see
We tried to save her, but it was not to be
The rest was sad and hard to see
I wonder if she misses me

You are invited to join us the last Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. MT as we remember the lives of pets we have loved and lost. For those who are not able to attend in person, a video recording of each blessing is posted soon thereafter online.
